Conflict, in many workplaces, is often seen as something to avoid or suppress. However, my diverse experiences, from India’s competitive landscape to leading multi-cultural teams across Asia and Mongolia, taught me that constructive conflict can, in fact, be a profound gift.
In Singapore, navigating a “fierce competitiveness” and “undercurrents of moving ahead,” I learned that true innovation often sparks from respectful disagreement. When setting up operations in India, I learned to manage bureaucratic impediments and corrupt officials, often by directly countering them, not with anger, but with a unique approach.
Fostering a culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed, debated, and refined, rather than silenced, unlocks collective intelligence and leads to far more robust solutions. Disagreement, when handled with wisdom, becomes a catalyst for extraordinary growth.
