What I Do When My Motivation Drops at Work

Even after decades of demanding roles, there are days when motivation feels like a
distant memory, especially in the fast-paced corporate world where "work-life balance"
often means "work balance". When I feel that familiar dip, I resist the urge for toxic
positivity. Instead, I lean into practical strategies.
Firstly, I revisit my 'why' – the larger purpose behind the project or the impact on people,
recalling how helping my team in Mongolia or contributing to philanthropy reignited my
spirit.
Secondly, I reconnect with my physical self: short walks, deep breaths, and reminding
myself that while physical pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
Finally, I remember the concept of "karma yogi" – focusing on the action itself, detached
from immediate results, which brings a profound sense of peace and renewed purpose.
It's about consciously choosing to re-engage, not just surviving the day.
